Veronica is an International Tax and Business expert specializing in Taxation and Tax Policy, International Taxation, International Trade, International Business Transactions, International Law, and Corporate and Commercial Transactions at Cedar Law Consult. With a strong background in these areas, Veronica brings valuable expertise to her work. Veronica has over six years of experience working as an Assistant Director at the Revenue Policy Division – Tax Policy Unit of the Ministry of Finance of Ghana. During her time there, she focused on international taxation and legislation. and played an instrumental role as a member of Ghana’s Double Taxation Agreement Negotiation Team, actively participating in negotiations between Ghana and other jurisdictions.
Veronica holds an LLB degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and completed her Professional Law Course at the Ghana School of Law. She holds an LLM degree from the prestigious Columbia Law School in New York, specializing in International Law, International Business Transactions, Tax Policy, and Law of the W.T.O. Her academic achievements at Columbia Law School include being awarded the Lawrence A. Wien Prize and Fellowship, recognition as a 2023 Public Interest Honoree, and receiving the Parker School Certificate for Achievement in International and Comparative Law. During her time at Columbia Law School, Veronica worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Lori F. Damrosch and Professor Petro C. Mavroidis and served as a staff editor at the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. Veronica has also received international training in international taxation, trade, and policy from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), International Bureau for Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), Malaysian Tax Academy, Korea Policy Centre, and West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM).
She has a stint with the Legal Department of the Ghana Revenue Authority and was an extern at the Legal Counsel Division of the New York City Law Department (Main Office) in Manhattan, New York. Additionally, Veronica is an active member of the Ghana Bar Association, showcasing her commitment to the legal profession.
